I'm seven days in so far and I feel AHHHHHH-MAZING. According to my math skills I am just shy of being 1/4 of the way there...after I make it to 30 days...I might just go for 90 days. I told you...CRAZY lady up in here! So what does "no sugar" mean? I do not put anything into my body that contains sugar as an ingredient or can be easily metabolized by my body into sugar. Here are some examples on my no-no list: alcohol, soda, juice, sweets of any kind, wheat/grain products (no gluten), dairy products...all super fun stuff right?
What I do put into my body: lean meats, seafood, vegetables, nuts and limited amounts of fruits. I drink water like it is going out of style and I drink tea with breakfast. I have been eating this way on and off for about 8 months or so, but now I am getting serious so watch out.
Sure I miss candy and ice cream and vanilla lattes and all that jazz. But I feel so damn good without all that shiz. I have so much energy, no more brain fog, no more IBS or other belly issues(we can talk about that in private if needed), no more bloat, decreased allergies, etc, etc. Seriously, I could go on. For the rational behind this way of eating, click here and I encourage you to do some research on your own.
So here is my lunch today...avocado slices wrapped in turkey and sliced tomatoes. BOMB. My co-workers looked at me like I had lost my ever-loving-mind while I was prepping this in the kitchen. Of course all while they were popping their forzen weight watchers meals into the microwave.
(Dude. Those things smell like dog food. No joke.)
(I am begging you not to eat those things...it is not even real food...read the ingredients list...more chemicals than food products.)

You ask..."Where is the bread...how does this fill you up?" Well it does. News flash people! Bread makes you sleepy and irritated. Protein makes you full and happy.

Ahhh, the poster child for Paleo. Don't get too serious on me--the Magnolia Militia doesn't support such talk.
I just read your post to the boys...Brady needs to adopt this way of thinking. I'm trying to talk to him everyday about this concept. He has major allergies and skin issues as well as daily complaints about stomach pain/aches and irritability. I tell him "sugar is poison to your body Brady" everyday. I hope I can get through to him and that he will realize that life is better without sugar. Not an easy task when his teacher offers candy as a treat on a daily basis. Thank you for sharing, maybe Brady can go to your house for a week and attend "Emily Boot Camp" to get him started without distractions...HA!!
Hey EM!
You'll be happy to know that Ruthie and I are working hard on Russel's diet (and our own since we must be good role models with healthy eating and regular exercise). He is getting many compliments from teachers and his swim coach that he is slimming down - we are not trying to get him to lose weight, only to eat healthy and exercise so his body mass changes. Thanks for your inspiration and advice!
Also, yes I am really setting the example - Cholesteral at 155, bad at 84 and good at 60, and have lost about 20 pounds since your wedding. Feeling really good!
