We have a very serious matter on our hands people. It is a little embarrassing, but mostly frustrating. We have the stinky towel syndrome in our house. I know you may be thinking...ewwww, gross, sick, yuck, nasty, blahhhh. Whatever. This is serious. I need your help. I need your advice.
Here is what I have done so far...bought new towels over and over again, we hang them up immediately after use for maximum dry-ability, wash the towels once a week at least. I wash in HOT water with a mild bleach. Sometimes when I get really pissed off I throw a scoop of OXY clean in. Crazy, I know.
So, I am begging for your laundry advice.
Why do we have stinky towels?
Are we stinky people?
I just don't have the answers anymore.
I have opened up the comments on our blog now...so have at it. Just click on Name/URL, then no password/email is required.
Tell me your fresh towel secrets.
Thank you for your time.

I have put a cap full of white distilled vinegar into the load of wash. It seems to do the trick pretty well. I thought for sure it would make my towels smell like I was dying Easter eggs, but it doesn't. Try it!
Ok, this sounds funny but don't use a dryer sheet when you dry your towels. Somebody at work was talking about the same problem and she said dryer sheets hurt the towels fabric when you use them with your towels. It does that makes sense to me, but I stopped using them when I dry our towels and it has helped! Hope you are doing well. We need to catch up I miss you! :)
And I thought I was the only one! Somehow, Philipp's towels smell luxurious and I think his secret is buying expensive towels, using massive amounts of laundry detergent and fabric softener and never ever leaving them in the washer for more than 30 minutes after they are done! (This is what I've observed of his towel washing habits over time) There's my advice, hope it works for you...
Thanks ladies...I think I will try the vinegar and no dryer sheets. If that doesn't work I will go for the expensive towels...thanks Kiersten :)
